A note about my name change:
My first book, Walking Home, was written under my married name, Lynda Wilson. When I wrote Hidden several years later, it was a different kind of homecoming. It felt natural and empowering to reclaim my maiden name, Ellestad.
Lynda Ellestad is a displaced Calgarian who has been living in Kitchener, Ontario, since 1991. She has happily played with words her entire life – as an editor, a copywriter, and author of articles and booklets.
Walking Home, her first published book (written under Lynda L. Wilson), was the culmination of many years of exploring the topic of home from every conceivable angle. As everyone knows, when you explore a topic from every conceivable angle it is quite possible to find yourself trapped in the middle of a very large circle. That is why she set out on the 127 km Guelph to Goderich Rail Trail with husband Doug in June, 2014 – to force herself to travel, for once, in a straight line.
